Q1: Why doesn't the article describe the territory as "Pakistan-occupied Kashmir"?
A1: For the same reasons that Jammu and Kashmir isn't described as "Indian-occupied Kashmir". Wikipedia follows usage in reliable sources and adheres to a neutral point of view. Q2: How about "Pakistani-administered Kashmir"?
A2: Pakistani-administered Kashmir is normally used as a cover term for Azad Kashmir + Gilgit-Baltistan. Q3: But is "Azad Kashmir" a neutral name?
A3: It's up to the article to describe that in detail. Regardless, an article's title should use the most common name, and that doesn't have to be neutral. |

editDespite being the same city the info box includes the “capital” and “largest city” I recommend we combine the two so it has “capital and largest city” on it as it would a. prevent the exact same redirect from being right next to each other and b. it will be consistent with other Wikipedia articles Gavfor (talk) 21:34, 5 October 2025 (UTC)

Wikipedia's article title currently uses "Azad Kashmir", which is the official name used by the local administration and Pakistan. However, numerous international academic, journalistic, and reference sources commonly use the more neutral descriptive term "Pakistan-administered Kashmir" when referring to the territory.
I request that editors consider whether the current title complies with Wikipedia's policies on neutrality and common name. The term "Azad" ("Free") may be perceived as endorsing a political position, whereas "Pakistan-administered Kashmir" is a descriptive term that identifies the administering authority without implying a position on sovereignty.
If a move is not considered appropriate, I suggest that the lead section more prominently explain that "Azad Kashmir" is the official name of a Pakistan-administered territory whose sovereignty remains disputed.
Potential sources for consideration include Encyclopaedia Britannica and other major international reference works that use the term "Pakistan-administered Kashmir".
