Unless this is covered in another article (in which case, which one?), I suggest an "In popular culture" section, or maybe a paragraph in the Aftermath secion, to cover the fact that several films and TV shows featured characters who were said to either be the "last man to walk on the moon" or one of the last men to do so. Three examples that come immediately to mind is Col. Steve Austin of The Six Million Dollar Man (I believe he is described as such in one of Martin Caidin's Cyborg novels upon which the series was based), the character played by Robert Duvall in the 1998 film Deep Impact, and I believe the character of Jack Crichton Sr. in the TV series Farscape (father of the show's lead character, John Crichton Jr.) is also described as such. I know there have been several others. 136.159.160.121 (talk) 16:09, 5 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Those things are trivial and have nothing to do with the actual mission.--Wehwalt (talk) 16:51, 5 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Ascent Footage

edit

Apollo 17 was the Only Lunar Mission to actually Capture Good Footage of the Lunar Module Taking off from the Lunar Surface via the Rover TV Camera, I'd Say that's Pretty Notable, Would it be Possible to Include a Photo from Said Footage in the Article? or is it too Unimportant, Just Asking ~2026-17270-19 (talk) 18:56, 26 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Have you checked Wikimedia commons to see if there is footage? it is obviously public domain, it would simply be a proper format. I don't think a still would be worth it. Wehwalt (talk) 19:09, 26 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Artemis II?

edit

For the first time in over 50 years, there's currently a mission heading near the Moon, should we mention this somehow in the article?

Once they get there, we will probably add something to the effect that Apollo 17 is no longer the last crewed mission to the Moon's vicinity. Remember, we follow the news, we do not lead it. Wehwalt (talk) 01:33, 2 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
Understandable. Cahlin29 (talk) 04:00, 2 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
