Treatment: Pharmacological Interventions

edit

There is a Cochrane review about pharmacological interventions. It looks at 8 different studies involving drugs as treatment for AsPD. The review concluded that there is little good quality evidence for what may be an effective treatment, these studies did find that bromocriptine, nortriptyline, and phenytoin were superior to placebos. This could be added to the treatment section and the cochrane review could be added to the sources.

Treatment: Psychological Interventions

edit

There is another cochrane review on the psychological interventions for AsPD. This review examined 11 different studies. Contingency Management and CBT should be added to this page as possible treatment options, and this review should be added as a new source.

I want to begin this statement by acknowledging that I sincerely support new people joining the Wikipedia community, and that I am not intending to WP:BITE a newcomer. However, there are rules and conventions that newcomers are (of course) not familiar with, such as verifiability being of the utmost importance (see: Wikipedia:Verifiability and Wikipedia:But it's true!). I would recommend checking out some introductory guidelines, such as Wikipedia:A primer for newcomers; there, you will be able to find good introductory information. With that out of the way, I would like to bring to your attention that it is not enough to claim that you have "found [something] on Google"; you will have to provide a source. I quickly checked the sources you provided, and I did not see clear evidence of them supporting your claims. Also, I have in general not been familiar with drugs causing personality disorders from information I have previously obtained. Thus, I suggest that you take a look at the sources that you want to use and reply here with very specific quotes that are not too long for copyright reasons, in which it shall be made very clear that the drugs are causes for ASPD; then, we can discuss the matter further. Also, I suggest obtaining a Wikipedia account so that you can build an editing history and thus also credibility on Wikipedia. Also, do not worry if we do not accept you addition of drugs as causes of ASPD; you are still very welcome to improve other articles. An example would be to try some copy editing, for which you can find articles at Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors. Other people from that project will also be able to evaluate and correct you edits. It is a great way to get familiar with Wikipedia. BlockArranger (talk) 19:49, 6 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Revision of Childhood Trauma and Comorbidity sections?

edit

Hello. I updated the Childhood Trauma section to revise the wording regarding comorbidities and remove the incomplete phrasing that suggested comparison, as well as the note regarding it. I also updated the source attached, and have a few more bookmarked in the case that the article linked doesn't provide enough per other's revisions. Changes made;

"The comorbidity rate of the previously listed disorders with ASPD tends to be much higher." to "The comorbidity rate of the previously listed disorders with ASPD is notably elevated."

On that note; I am wondering why exactly there is a statement regarding comorbidities in this section. From what I recall there is a section discussing comorbid conditions further down in the page as well, I find having a list of conditions that then notes rates of comorbidity and other diagnoses with similar/mimicking symptoms almost feels repetitive and out of place given that the same topic is discussed in the Epidemiology section. I was wondering if it would be more sensible to merge these two sections together and move the statement of comorbidity and the list of diagnoses with similar symptoms to the Comorbidity section itself. Figured I would ask for thoughts regarding the suggestion from others before making any large-scale revisions. Pancosmism (talk) 01:52, 7 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
