Emotions: Fake or a Prediction for what is to come
editAs you read this you begin to think, "Could this really happen." And the truth is I really do think it could and will. As you look at counties like China, Jordan, Kenya, and even parts of the U.S. you see that food is a huge problem and didn't the problem start with the drought and subsequently famine. So as we see these problems all over the world and over population we seem to be in a transition phase. We can't help every one and we don't have a plan so population laws seem practical. That is where the emotions in the book play a key factor. Everyone feels differently, some are sad for Jen and Luke. While others arangy they break laws. Still others are proud and excited so would help shadow children. I actually do think that these laws could help. luke was a third child and there parents already had two and thats the top ammount they are allowed to have
- I understand what you are saying, but i dont think governments will ever kill children for the sole reason that they are "illegal". I could be wrong, but if this becomes reality, we will be living in a very depressing world. Im a third child :]:]! 65.24.106.106 20:07, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Theyre already putting a similar project in China were they send representatives to talk to couples to have the less children possible and that its recomended and for "the better goood" that they should be boys. The story apparently takes place in the future. As jen describes it as "A country with liberty, justice and equality".--Klaus Baude 123 06:14, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
My oldest child just read this book and was very disturbed by it. Now my wife is reading it. Has anyone come across any references or citation regarding the mathematical truth of overpopulation? Long ago I read that every family has to have at least four children just to keep the population balanced, and less than that will begin a decline. This was to compensate for many that cannot have children and for many who are killed accidently. I wish I could remember the source, anyone else come across data like this? Whenever I first started reading the novel I thought it took place in China until I got to "population police" etcetera. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 141.158.72.184 (talk) 00:57, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Hidden.jpg
edit
Image:Hidden.jpg is being used on this article. I notic the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addtion to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for slow deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
