Name - link to Alexander Doniphan
editMoving information out of the article to here for discussion/resolution, as it is unclear whether it is factual.
...Alexander was named after Alexander Doniphan, who had refused an order to execute Joseph Smith, and then was Joseph's defense attorney during Joseph's incarceration at Liberty Jail.[1]
Considered that It is not likely that Alexander Hale Smith was named after Alexander Doniphan since the events that involved both Joseph Smith and Alexander Doniphan did not take place until after Alexander Smith was born, i.e. Joseph’s arrest when Doniphan was ordered to execute Joseph and the surrender at Far West.
