Date of accession.

edit

According to the sources cited in S. H. Hodivala, Studies in Mughal Numismatics (Calcutta, 1923): 287, the accession of 'Ālamgir II to the throne was reckoned offically from 1 Sha'bān 1167 (which should fall on or aboutCE 24 May 1754). Hodivala's book in archive.org for ready reference. Should we change the date? Shirazibustan (talk) 08:24, 13 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Rumours that Alamgir II did not refer to himself as Jahan Panah (refuge of the world), due to his aggressive stance against the Maratha Confederacy.

he may have spoken "Medieval Sanskrit" as a language of his wartime leadership and military skills.

Evict

edit

Alamgir II made a bold attempt to evict the Maratha Confederacy from the various territories of the Indian subcontinent thus causing a backlash that led to the assassination of the "Great Mogul (rank)" and the arrival of the Durrani Empire into the contested battlefields against Sadashivrao Bhau.
