Factual update request (COI declared)
edit![]() | This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest was declined. |
I am posting this on behalf of ASD (AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe), and I declare an interest as a representative of the organisation. I am not making direct edits to the article, but respectfully request that a neutral editor consider the following factual corrections and additions, all sourced from ASD's publicly available Facts & Figures 2024 report (asd-europe.org):
1. Article name / lede
The article uses the name "AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe." The organisation's current full name is the Aerospace, Security and Defence Industries Association of Europe, reflecting the addition of the security sector.
2. Membership / scale
The article states ASD "represents over 3,000 companies in 17 countries." A number of new members have joined ASD through 2024-26, bringing the total membership to "more than 4,000 companies across 21 European countries". ASD members collectively employ more than 1.1 million people, and generated a turnover of €326 bn in 2024, accounting for 99% of industry’s total turnover and 94% of its total employment in Europe. See the latest ASD Facts & Figures 2024, published by the Aerospace, Security and Defence Industries Association of Europe, available at www.asd-europe.org.
3. Leadership
The article does not mention current leadership. The following should be added:
President: Micael Johansson
Secretary General: Camille Grand
Both are confirmed in the ASD Facts & Figures 2024 publication.
4. Industry statistics (2023 data)
The following key figures could be added to an "Industry represented" section, all drawn from ASD Facts & Figures 2024:
Total industry turnover: €290.4 billion
Total direct employment: 1,027,000
Total exports: €164.2 billion
Total R&D investment (public and private): €23.4 billion
Broader economic footprint: over 3.9 million jobs supported across Europe (direct, indirect, and induced)

In the example above there are three URL's provided with the claim statements, but these URL's have not been placed using Citation Style 1, which is the style predominantly used by the AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe article. Additionally, ref tags have not been placed within the text at the exact positions where the information they reference resides. Using the correct style and the correct positioning of the ref tags, the WikiFormatted text should resemble the following:
In the example above the references have been formatted according to Citation Style 1, which shows the author, the source's name, date, etc. Also, the ref tags are placed in the exact location where the text which they reference resides. As Wikipedia is a volunteer project, edit requests such yours are generally expected to have this formatting done before the request is submitted for review. |
Kindly rewrite your edit request so that it aligns more with the second example shown in the collapsed section above, and feel free to re-submit that edit request at your earliest convenience. If you have any questions about this formatting please don't hesitate to ask myself or another editor. Regards, Spintendo 22:36, 23 May 2026 (UTC)
Notes
- ↑ The use of bare URLs as references is a style which is acceptable for use in Wikipedia. However, general practice dictates that the style already in use for an article be the one that is subsequently used for all future additions unless changed by editorial consensus.
