Updates
editMedrano was reportedly killed in Matamoros last year. Nothing was officially confirmed. Sources about this individual are limited after he was convicted and released. Seems like the media has moved on from these old-school narcos, but I will try to find some sources to confirm his death. Since it has been over a year, I doubt I'll find anything, so my best chances are to look for death certifications offline. In the meantime, I removed the DOB template to hide his age, but will not add death date upon official confirmation. MX (✉ • ✎) 15:40, 15 February 2019 (UTC)

editHello, Trappist the monk. Did you make this update manually or using a script? These refs appeared like that because I was using the Visual Edit mode and copying refs from other articles. MX (✉ • ✎) 14:07, 9 April 2019 (UTC)
- Manually; assisted by the source editor's regex search and replace. Creating a script will be something of a tough nut because Module:Citation/CS1 renders 25-ish different templates, each of which has a plethora of possible parameters that may be positioned in a variety of ways. I would hope that those who are the authors of that abomination that is ve will get off their butts and fix this (but, alas, this problem has been at Phabricator since mid November last year – I'm not going to hold my breath ...)

Hey man, I'll review this one, too. Comments should be added soon. Kingsif (talk) 01:52, 17 September 2019 (UTC)
Criteria
edit- Style - Pass well written, structure, and connected throughout
- Coverage - Pass appears to hit all the info available, gives good context without being excessive
- Illustration - Pass one image of subject at top, might do with another image but not necessary
- Neutrality -
Hold generally good, one note in "Arrest and reaction"Pass - Stability - Pass months since an edit not for ref cleanup
- Verifiability - Pass good range of RS and everything cited inline
- Copyright - Pass Check clear
Lead
edit- Good length for article
- Good coverage of major points and activities
- Well-written
- All claims sourced in main article body
- Good use of wikilinks for information that doesn't need detailed context here
- Good infobox
Early life and career
edit- Well written and clear
- Comprehensive
- Perhaps the very start is not the best place for the FBI profile, however, it does work nicely within the section and would not be suitable in the other sections, which don't seem to deal with the FBI. This is to say, it works well where it is, and only if the article were to be restructured (which it does not need) would it suit going anyway else.
- Good use of wikilinks
- Good use of note to include extensive list of codenames
- @MX: Could rephrase the start of the last paragraph to be more focused on Medrano than García Mena.

Arrest and reaction
edit- @MX: "16:00 hours" in Standard American English would be rendered as 4 pm
- @MX: Perhaps a better term than "rescue" could be used - it sounds vaguely heroic when it would be a prison-break of a dangerous criminal
- Otherwise, written very well with good structure throughout
- Good use of wikilinks and inline explanations where relevant
- Extensive coverage

Custody and imprisonment
edit- @MX: "military installation" reads a bit odd, perhaps 'facility' is a more common term
- @MX: I'm pretty sure "evidence" is a collective noun, i.e. not pluralized
- Possible concern over OR re. the Quintero Payáns, but well explained and sourced in note, so doesn't breach policy
- Still well written
- Suitable coverage

Conviction and release
edit- Good explanation of what a minimum wage sentence is.
- @MX: Any reason given why González Sánchez wasn't happy (I can guess, but if there are sources available, it could be included)
- Good coverage otherwise.
