edit"Members of the 579th wore the shoulder sleeve insignia of the Theater Army Support Command (TASCOM) until 1974, then the United States Army Europe (USAREUR). They wore the distinctive unit insignia of the 59th Ordnance Brigade until 1977 when the unit switched to that of the 3rd Ordnance Battalion."
This is incorrect. I served at the 579th Ordnance Company in 1971-72 and we wore the AWSCOM shoulder sleeve insignia.

editBunch of people that NEVER were a Member of 59th Ordnance Brigade, 3rd Ordnance Battalion after being switched from 32nd Air Defense Artillery to 59th Ordnance Brigade. the 579th Ordnance Company was no longer part of the 3rd Ordnance Battalion (formerly the 59th Ordnance Brigade's Special Troops Battalion Husterhoeh Kaserne Pirmasens Federal Republic of West Germany, and later renamed Theater Support Battalion Husterhoeh Kaserne Pirmasens Federal Republic of West Germany, finally renamed 3rd Ordnance Battalion. Additional Facts and References, there was a fight between Nuclear Weapons Ordnance of 59th Ordnance Brigade, Conventional Munitions Ordnance like 60th Ordnance Group, Wheeled and Tracked Vehicle Maintenance Ordnance Groups like the 51st Ordnance Group, for Ordnance Battalions, Companies, even Detachments. USAREUR decided, Nuclear Weapons Battalions and Companies, Chemical Munitions, and Missiles go to 59th Ordnance Brigade as "Special Weapons". Conventional Munitions go to 60th Ordnance Group, and some of the USAREUR Theater Support Commands like 21st Support Command, 7th Support Command. Missiles ended up based on the kind of Missiles, Pershing 1a and Pershing 2 went to 59th Ordnance Brigade (Maintenance) and the 56th Field Artillery, while the Lance, MGM-52, went to 41st Ordnance Company (Maintenance) and the Field Artillery Groups Federal Republic of West Germany. 579th Ordnance Company (Guided Missile General Support)
The 579th Ordnance Company is the newest ordnance unit in the entire United States Army, and is the latest addition to the 81st Ordnance Battalion family. Constituted and activated at Wiesbaden, Germany on 24 June 1961, the 579th is the first Guided Missile General Support Ordnance Unit to be employed in an overseas theatre. The formation of this company is only the latest in a long series of actions taken to provide Seventh Army Missile units with the best ordnance support available in the entire army.
The original personnel for the 579th Ordnance Company were drawn chiefly from the Seventh United States Army Advance Weapons Guided Missile Company, Gonsenheim and the 367th Ordnance Detachment, both of which were inactivated upon activation of the 579th.
The mission of the 579th Ordnance Company is to provide general support maintenance for all non-explosive components of "Y" missiles and all ordnance materiel of the ground guidance launching and handling equipment not allied with automotive or conventional mechanical equipment.
The 579th Ordnance Company is commanded by Captain William H. Dodd, Ordnance Corps."
Like I said before unless you were there, 1981 to 1990 before they were deactivated you would NOT know anything.Nakamuradavid (talk) 16:36, 15 October 2020 (UTC)
- The 579th was disbanded in 1982, so 1990 does not enter into it. And that was before Pershing 2. The 41st Ord maintained and supplied float equipment for Pershing until the 55th Spt was formed. Otherwise, I can't pick out what you are discussing here. Looks like you copied a lot of this from usarmygermany. Much of the article section is sourced from that. --21lima (talk) 21:13, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
- "Looks like you copied a lot of this from usarmygermany.", nope. I provided information to usarmygermany from documents that I still have from being stationed at 64th Ordnance Company, the Headquarters 59th Ordnance Brigade, AEUSA S&I as MI Officer, Project Manager U.S.Presidential High Priority National Security Construction Project, U.S. Presidential Nuclear and Chemical Weapons Control Order Duty, The entire Brigade's F.B.I. Background Investigation "TSBI" Officer, transferred to AEUSA-M of Lieutenant Colonel Jones and his Deputy Major Jeffrey Minno, my duties Brigade's WARS Officer, continued as Project Manager U.S.Presidential High Priority National Security Construction Project until completion at Europe some still operational still classified and U.S. all still operational still classified turned over to former Captain Kathleen Kaiser she resigned Commission and became a G.S. position that I created. U.S. Presidential Nuclear and Chemical Weapons Control Order Duty usually with "B-Sides" First Lieutenant Michael Mendoza, First Lieutenant Mary Spotswood. Involved with writing USAREUR's part Operation Golden Python, and U.S. Navy's part Operation Steel Box because I came from Hawaii (Johnston Atoll is part of the Hawaiian Islands),knowledge about U.S. Navy Operations Pacific. The Commanding Generals 59th Ordnance that I served, Brigadier General Frank Cunningham, Brigadier General Harry D. Walker, Brigadier General Marvin D. Brailsford (Previous U.S. Army Ordnance Corps School "Commandant" Aberdeen Proving Grounds Maryland) his nickname "Darth Vader", Chief of Staff was Colonel Walter Piff, Operations Chief of Staff Colonel Voss, 3rd Ordnance Battalion Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Eugene Bishop Was previous Major Commanding Officer 330th Ordnance Company (Chemical Munitions), when I was Executive Officer and relieved the Commanding Officer 9th Ordnance Company (Support all Nuclear Weapons Europe of U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army Special Forces SADMs, Germany Luftwaffe Pershing 1a) as required U.S. Presidential Nuclear Weapons Personnel Reliability Program or I would be charged "Dereliction of U..S. Presidential Nuclear Weapons Duties" and became Commanding Officer as no one wanted to be Commanding Officer 9th Ordnance Company 411 Officers, Warrant Officers, NCOs, Enlisted, with Operational Command and Control of the 164th Military Police Company (Nuclear Weapons Physical Security) about 400 as 4 Platoons, 189th Heavy Transportation Company (76th Transportation) "Safe and Secure Ground Transportation of Nuclear Weapons", 22nd Aviation Detachment provided me as "Air Mission Commander" flights of multiple CH-47s "Safe and Secure Air Transportation of Nuclear Weapons" first was UH-1s then changed to UH-60s I was at Husterhöh Kaserne talking to Captain Albright Commanding Officer TSB "Theater Support Battalion "Provisional", Captain Kaiser Commanding Officer 110th MP Company Chemical Weapons Physical Security when the Pilot of a UH-60 of the 22nd Aviation Detachment crashed, was already known about the electro mechanical problems of radio frequency disruptions of the rear control "wing" as "stabilator", as received a radio signal though wiring and stabilator goes into the locked down position forcing the UH-60 to go nose first into ground. You don't even know whom you are attempting to insult. - nakamuradavid ~2026-11535-71 (talk) 01:17, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
- So many inaccuracies created by those not directly involved.
- As Project Manager U.S. President's High Priority National Security Construction Project at Europe and U.S., the Weapons Access Delay System was a part and not all of the U.S. President's High Priority National Security Construction Project at Europe and U.S..
- I did not know until later that I was being involved with the Weapons Access Delay System, as Nuclear Weapons Maintenance and Assembly Platoon Leader, "Shop Officer", 64th Ordnance Company Fischbach bei Dahn. The Nuclear Weapons Maintenance and Assembly Platoon Leader, "Shop Officer" was usually the highest Grade of Officer "On Site" as Commanding Officer of the Nuclear Weapons Site with the Military Police Officer as subordinate based on title and position, and not Grade of Officer.
- Somebody high up, scheduled a U.S. Army Special Forces O.S.T. "Operational Security Test", the target was a "Above Ground Earth Covered Nuclear Weapons Storage Magazine" we had been ordered to move "trainer" components of the U.S. Army's 8 inch Field Artillery Projectile, PZ, TZ, "Tootsie Roll" container, and a metal box, into a specific not used "Above Ground Earth Covered Nuclear Weapons Storage Magazine".
- The U.S. Army Special Forces Teams of the 10th Special Forces Group from Bad Tölz Federal Republic of West Germany bought a "British Thermal Arc Cutting Torch", 14.1 ounces Oxygen tanks and 14.1 ounces acetylene tanks the size of today's 14.1 ounces propane cylinders "tanks", a regulator, to ignite the "British Thermal Arc Cutting Torch", they too easily got through the at Site U.S. Army's Military Police, the chain link fences, ignited the rod of the British Thermal Arc Cutting Torch, cut the hinges of one of the steel doors of the Above Ground Earth Covered Nuclear Weapons Storage Magazine, the weight of the door caused the door to fall.
- The U.S. Army Special Forces Team Members two grabbed the tubular steel handles of the "Birdcage" PZ. two grabbed the tubular steel handles of the "Birdcage" TZ, two grabbed the "Tootsie Roll" cylinder with projectile casing inside, one got the small metal box, the "trainer" 8 inch components are not nuclear. Less than 20 minutes the U.S. Army Special Forces Team Members were completely out of "The Depot", this was first involvement with the Weapons Access Delay System, "W.A.D.S." as would become part of the U.S. President's High Priority National Security Construction Project.
- After being reassigned to Headquarters 59th Ordnance Brigade as Project Manager U.S. President's High Priority National Security Construction Project, I had overall control of everything pertaining to the Weapons Access Delay System "W.A.D.S." or as the Chief Warrant Officers of AEUSA-MW commented "Wrong Answer Dumb Shit", especially the oldest Chief Warrant Officer at that time, Chief Warrant Officer "Bob" Larabee, as typical of Chief Warrant Officers he got my white large plastic coffee mug put the 59th Ordnance Brigade crest decal on, got 59th Ordnance Brigade's graphic artist "Willis" to make a decal "Wrong Answer Dumb Shit", Chief Warrant Officer "Bob" Larabee attached the decals upside down on my white plastic coffee mug, put my coffee mug right side up on my large wooden (not gray metal) desk and not next to all the official 59th Ordnance Brigade ceramic coffee mugs with their names painted on with gold paint by the Germans that made those coffee mugs. The Chief Warrant Officers and Senior Non Commissioned Officers including my previous 64th Ordnance Company NCOIC Master Sergeant whitfield were peering around the corner to see my reaction. Being the son of a Chief Warrant Officer 4, this kind of "prank" is typical of Chief Warrant Officers. The Chief Warrant Officer, Senior Non Commissioned Officer maintained the funds, making coffee with the coffee percolator, they drank the most coffee. So I went into their office AEUSA-MW, filled up coffee, went to Chief Warrant Officer "Bob" Larabee as Chief Warrant Officer In Charge of AEUSA-MW, and sat down, I asked him "What he would do about this?" pointing at my coffee mug, he said "I did that", I said "not that, what would do instead of the Weapons Access Delay System?". Chief Warrant Officer "Bob" Larabee response, "Don't know that's your problem".
- Pertaining to the Weapons Security Container "W.S.C." after the U.S. Army Special Forces O.S.T. "Operational Security Test" at the 64th Ordnance Company, a person at Sandia National Laboratories with no U.S. Army Ordnance Corps Nuclear Weapons experience came up with the idea of putting a cage of expanded metal anchored to the concrete floor of the "Above Ground Earth Covered Nuclear Weapons Storage Magazine", I got in a long argument with Project Manager Nuclear "P.M. Nuke" based on experience, the components must be secure, but still easily moved when unlocked. My idea was their idea of expanded steel so secure and still could be seen accounted for and inventoried especially during a Nuclear "Stockpile Emergency Verification", a platform with the cage of expanded steel, wheels like on a shopping cart, rear wheels with locks no ball bearing swivels, front wheels ball bearing swivels with wheel locks so that one "user" can move the Weapons Security Container, the "C" was never "Cage" and definitely not the U.S. Navy's part of the movements of Chemical Munitions to Johnston Atoll as I wrote the technical parts of Operation Steel Box, the U.S. Navy's World War 2 Fleet of upgraded engines, navigation and controls "Steering" Cargo Ships steel hulls, steel cargo compartments were the "Steel Box(es)". I lost that argument with Project Manager Nuclear Sandra National Laboratory, "less expensive to buy only one kind of wheel", after the implementation of the Weapons Security Container, I started to get many complaints, instead of only one user pushing or pulling a Weapons Security Container, "Sometimes they had to have four to move YOUR piece of shit" was of many printed Official Classified Messages, the other Official Classified Messages were more derogatory. As a First Lieutenant instead of a minimum required Colonel or Brigadier General as Project Manager (this is U.S. Department Of Defense Policy as taught at United States Army Missile and Munitions Center and School, Redstone Arsenal Alabama) arguing based on experience with a no experienced "U.S. Presidential Political Appointee" of course I lost that Weapons Security Container "W.S.C." argument. After losing that argument I found out how to get what I wanted, with no arguments. So all that blamed me for that you don't know anything, I almost got kicked out of the U.S. Army because I was "arguing too much, causing delays" to stop stupid from getting to "the Company Level". I even had your Company Commanders unannounced come into my Office and start screaming at me, "You don't know what it's like at the Companies", my calm factual response, "I know more than you can possibly think, I successfully served without flaws mistakes as Storage and Issue Platoon Leader, Air Mission Commander, Senior Nuclear Weapons Courier Officer, U.S. Air Force Nuclear Weapons Escort Officer, Maintenance and Assembly Platoon Leader, more than 130 successful "Safe and Secure Movements of Nuclear Weapons by Air", 3 CH-47 crashes, 1 crash after sending a "Broken Arrow" Report I did "Render Safe" of two NiKe Hercules Warheads one 10 kiloton, 1 20 kiloton, some that knew said "You saved Mannheim, Kaiserslautern, Lanstuhl, U.S. Air Force Headquarters Europe U.S. Air Force Base Ramstein, Zweibrucken", my response "what you gonna pin a medal on me and then remove the medal lock that medal up with the narrative in a classified documents vault?". Your Company Commanders that came in my Office and screamed at me, never did any of what I successfully did, I know because as the entire Brigade's Security Clearance Officer I was "Required" to read everybody's 201 Personnel Records Files, verify those with the F.B.I.s Request For Top Secret Background Investigation Form, after that I sign on the bottom of their F.B.I. Form, "Under Penalty of Perjury", I knew everything about your Commanding Officers, before you think "he forgot", nope, during the Vietnam War I was physically tortured psychologically tortured to "Remember everything" not "Memorize anything" during the U.S. Army's "Combat Schools" Republic of South Vietnam as always the possibility of being attacked by North Vietnamese Army and or "Vietcong", those of Us that survived that kind of brutality almost like having a recorder in your head, everything you see, heard, smelled, tasted, touched "hot, warm, cold, soft, hard, etc.", they did that to only one Company of two Platoons as U.S. Army Special Forces Strategic Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol (to qualify U.S. Army Airborne School included Air Mobile today's Air Assault, The U.S. Army Ranger School Combat School RVN, The U.S. Army Special Forces School RVN, The U.S. Army Special Forces School RVN, The U.S. Army Special Forces Strategic Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol School included the U.S. C.I.A.s "The Farm" RVN) of the entire Vietnam War 1962- 1977 the Official End of Vietnam War August 1975, because we were not working for the U.S. Department Of Defense, and working for the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, the end was when the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency either ran out of funds, and or decided to stop.
- The expensive brownish red cage in the front the "Above Ground Earth Covered Nuclear Weapons Storage Magazines" made of expanded steel and square tube steel, two expensive specialized locks as designed and tested only provided a few minutes delay against the British Thermal Arc Cutting Torch, I told not asked if there was anything that they could put inside the tubular steel to cause the ignited rThe expensive brownish red cage in the front the "Above Ground Earth Covered Nuclear Weapons Storage Magazines rod of the British Thermal Arc Cutting Torch to go out? No response to my message for weeks, I sent another message, month later the response was yes. Their tests caused the British Thermal Arc Cutting Torch to be worthless to defeat "the expensive brownish red cage in the front the "Above Ground Earth Covered Nuclear Weapons Storage Magazines".
- Because being Project Manager of the U.S. President's High Priority National Security Construction Project, I visited (Temporary Duty Assignments) all of 59th Ordnance Brigade's locations, even Chemical Munitions Depot Site 59, Clausen, U.S. Air Force Nuclear Weapons locations Europe and U.S., U.S. Navy Nuclear Weapons locations Europe and U.S.. I did not commit fraud of using these Temporary Duty Assignments to be a Tourist.
- I am writing this because I am over age 69. I am sending this and previous written records to the Official Military (.mil) sites to be Officially Published included on their Internet Sites. nakamuradavid ~2026-11559-28 (talk) 05:57, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
- "Blazon: on a shield 2+1⁄2 inches (6.4 cm) in width and 3 inches (7.6 cm) in height overall, crimson with a 1⁄8 inch (0.32 cm) yellow border, a white disc with scalloped rim containing a crimson flame of nine tongues surmounted by a small yellow disc at upper center between two cannon barrels in a V position, their breeches conjoined in base.
- Symbolism: crimson and yellow are the colors used for Ordnance. The cannon barrels represent weapons, the disc at center a round of shot or ammunition, and the flames suggest ordnance repairs. The white area, suggesting a cloud of smoke, alludes to explosives. The position of the cannon barrels simulating the Roman numeral five, together with the nine tongues of the flame, alludes to the organization's numerical designation.
- Background: The shoulder sleeve" insignia was approved on 18 April 1980. (TIOH Dwg. No. A-1-655)"
- This is wrong "a small yellow disc", "Symbolism: crimson and yellow", the people that made the patch did nor have gold thread made by Coats and Clark as actually a gold color nylon as used on my Official U,S, Army Ordnance Corps shoulder boards like used as U.S. Army Officers Grade of Officer shoulder tabs. the expensive Official U.S, Army Dress Blue Uniform shoulder boards are actual gold "bullion" thread as 10 carats to 24 carats real gold . "Willis" the 59th Ordnance Brigade's Graphic Artist did not do any research. See the Official U.S.Army Ordnance Corps.mil.
- This is the same neglect and lack of attention to facts of people saying "the colors of the U.S. Army are black and yellow", as 100 percent inaccurate, see U.S. Army.mil.
- The "scrambled eggs" that thing on the black leather brim, not a civilian "bill", of U.S. Army Officers "Service Cap" as "Field Grade" O-4 to U.S. Military Generals and U.S. Navy Admirals also is made of either gold colored nylon thread or real gold thread.
- I was there, 59th Ordnance Brigade, when we changed from the United States Army Europe "Flaming Sword and Rainbow" patch to what was nick named "the head (round disc) up the ass (two cannons as legs) patch" as designed by "Willis" the 59th Ordnance Brigade's Civilian Graphics Artist never served the U.S. Military, I was there when "Willis" designed the 59th Ordnance Brigade patch, all the Chief Warrant Officers at Headquarters 59th Ordnance Brigade were laughing "head up ass patch", I remember this because as U.S. Military Officers we buy all the Uniforms, pay for the patches and the patches sewn on I paid almost $400.00 buying the patches and having those sew on accurately, exactly the correct locations, we Officers did not get "extra money" to do all of that, same as having to buy your own food, even eating at "Dining Facilities" Officers we pay the Officers set amount as higher than Non Commissioned Officers, Enlisted with "Separate Rations" at the Dining Facilities, even during Field Training Exercises as Officers the amount for meals, including useless children sized portions "Meals Ready to Eat" that most name "Meal Rejected by Everyone", same when deployed as U.S. Army Special Forces Officer, just to maintain muscle mass and body weight so that our bodies did not use our muscles as food, we had to eat four or more of the children sized portions "Meals Ready to Eat", and a special U.S. Army Special Forces add on Meal wrongfully named "Cold Weather/Marine Optimized Ration (MCW/MORE)" we did not eat that separately we ate that with the four or more "Meal Ready to Eat", "Meals Ready to Regurgitate (as the main course usually looked like vomit in a bag.)", because of this wrongfully named meal, I had to sign the Requisition Forms, We created the ""Cold Weather/Marine Optimized Ration (MCW/MORE)" while at Afghanistan's two thirds mountains of the Hindu Kush "Killer of Hindus", and Pamir Mountains "Roof of the World" doing High Altitude Mountain Warfare including during the almost Arctic Winter conditions. After those hundreds of Requisition Forms once a week, I sent a message "Either send automatically, or We do not conduct Missions, as "Non Mission Capable"", those Requisition Forms stopped, some no Combat experience bureaucrat Quartermaster Corps Officer was Ordered to sign those.
- This "yellow" is about the same amount of WRONG, of U.S. President Trump's idea that raw fish is Japanese food "sushi",
- Japanese food "sushi" is steamed rice mixed with sweet rice vinegar, never sour vinegar because of the Japanese addiction to sweet foods.
- Japanese food "sashimi" is raw fish, usually very expensive raw tuna, as what the Hawaiians name "Ahi" when used as Hawaiian Food "poke". Unlike Hawaiians making "poke" of raw tuna, real Japanese Sushi Chiefs are trained for years to determine if raw ingredients are edible or not. - nakamuradavid ~2026-11945-83 (talk) 08:47, 23 February 2026 (UTC)
