This page should not be deleted.

There are several grand slam final pages of which press do not describe as greatest matches of all time. For instance, you are free to check 2009 French Open – men's singles final, 2013 Wimbledon – men's singles final, 2020 French Open – men's singles final, and 2024 Wimbledon – men's singles final. Moreover, these matches did not even go to 4th set, all of them were 3-setters, yet they still stay as separate pages to this day with no discussions at all. If those are created it's time to list them too. We do not create finals articles that are routine or drubbings. Fyunck(click) (talk) 18:55, 16 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
I am very interested to know why you decided to delete such pages after the 2025 final when the 2024 final article has been up for 365 days and nobody - including you - decided it should be deleted. 2A02:C7E:2802:EB00:814B:C5EF:1D30:88BC (talk) 20:45, 16 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Some of the articles no one knows exists unless brought to our attention at Tennis Project. That 2024 article is even more ridiculous than this one! That needs to go pronto as it was obviously a reason why the 2025 article came into being. Fyunck(click) (talk) 00:16, 17 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Although the press did not describe the final as "one of the greatest", it is arguably a very significant final in the context of the Sinner-Alcaraz rivalry. After going 0-5 and suffering one of the most devastating defeats in the sport in the RG final (which is described as one of the greatest), Sinner regained the momentum and restored balance to the rivalry which many pundits compare to the Federer-Nadal rivalry. Therefore this final should definitely have its own article. 2A02:C7E:2802:EB00:814B:C5EF:1D30:88BC (talk) 20:50, 16 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'm not sure what the heck that means. There are very few final matches we have articles for. They are reserved for sensational matches that have been deemed among the greatest of all-time by the books, magazines, newspapers, etc... This was routine and everything here should be on the 2025 Wimbledon Championships – Men's singles article. That's what it's for. This is a duplicate of a routine match that has no business with it's own final article. They are not going to be talking about this match for decades to come which is the requirement per guidelines.
