This might be a unique circumstance since the PVL is a single league and the men's league is its own entity, but I feel like the women's and men's tournaments can be separated. Looking back at previous sources, the articles didn't explicitly mention a "merger" between the Shakey's V-League and Spikers' Turf, but all of them have stated that Spikers' Turf would be rebranded as the PVL men's division or that it would be integrated into the PVL calendar:
- ABS-CBN: "Sports Vision also changed the Spiker’s Turf name into PVL men’s tournament."
- The Philippine Star: "The Spikers' Turf will be re-inserted into the PVL in its men's division also starting in 2017."
- Manila Standard: "The Spikers’ Turf male competition will be integrated into the regular calendar in 2017."
Based on the text, I see this as less of a merger of the two leagues and more of an integration of the two leagues under the PVL umbrella. The proposed split is should be clear, splitting the conference articles into two tournament articles:
This will also affect the 2017 Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference, 2017 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference, 2018 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference, and 2018 Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference. Optionally, the conference articles could redirect to the women's tournament since the PVL at this point is mostly known as a women's volleyball league, particularly in the professional era.
