La Niña

edit

There is no definitive linkage between El Niño/La Niña and this outbreak, or tornado activity in general (see Schaefer, 1999). Evolauxia 23:23, 22 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

This article needs work.

edit

The aid and media attention sections need rewriting. They consist of one third of the article, include too much trivia about the FCC students' activities during and after the events and reads as though the students were the only people to assist the victims. The tone is not encyclopedic at all. I'll try to work on it this weekend if no one has any objections.Scrapbkn (talk) 21:00, 28 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please, please do. Mad props to the kids at FCC for whatever they did to help that night, but it's kinda disgusting to see that mess edited into this article -- from the tone, i'm surprised they didn't go all-out to link back to FCC every time they mentioned it, lol. Many groups helped everyone out during that time. Family, friends, and neighbors alike, we all dropped our differences, came together, and did what we could for each other. It's not right to honor one single group like that over everyone else, and that kind of thing isn't what Wikipedia is for anyway. --174.110.208.5 (talk) 13:22, 29 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

1998 Kissimmee tornado outbreak1998 Central Florida tornado outbreak – 1: While the Kissimmee tornado was easily the most significant tornado of the outbreak, being the deadliest in Florida's history, it was not the only significant tornado, the outbreak contained 2 other F3 tornadoes, both of which were also deadly. 2: The outbreak is not usually called the Kissimmee tornado outbreak, rather its called either "The Night of the Tornadoes" or "The Central Florida Tornado Outbreak". Support The Kissimmee F3 was notable, but isn't the only one. StormHunterBryante5467⛈️ 12:01, 7 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

  • Support The National Weather Service refers to the outbreak as the 1998 Central Florida tornado outbreak in 2 separate documents here and here, supporting the move. Furthermore, local news station FOX 35 Orlando referred to the outbreak as the 1998 Central Florida tornado outbreak this in March 2025.
