The circumstances of the three heroes' deaths aren't real.
editIt would be great if someone with more experience on Wikipedia could update the article[1].
"The Directorate of Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Army (DPHCEX), through the Army's Center for Military History Studies and Research (CEPHiMEx), has confirmed that the soldiers of the 11th Infantry Regiment—Geraldo Baêta da Cruz, 28 years old, a stretcher-bearer from Entre Rios de Minas; Arlindo Lúcio da Silva, 25 years old, from São João del Rei, 2nd Infantry Company/Iporan Nunes Platoon; and Geraldo Rodrigues de Souza, 26 years old, from Rio Preto, a soldier of the Command Company of the 3rd Battalion—did not die in a firefight, expending their last rounds of ammunition against German forces in Montese.
According to the highest historical research body of the Brazilian Army, there is also “no historical evidence that these soldiers were buried by the Germans.”
