11th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment → 11th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment – To bring page into consistency with recent consensus on ACW unit naming conventions at Wikipedia talk: WikiProject_Military_history#Retitling_of_Civil_War_Regiments/Removal_of_Volunteer. Got error message when I tried to move it, page already exists. How to remedy? Historical Perspective 2 (talk) 14:36, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose as 11th Massachusetts Regiment (1776-8) and 11th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment(1861-5) both exist. A better disambiguation is probably needed.--Bob not snob (talk) 07:10, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
- The attempt to move is following through with a consensus already reached at the above project link. It's not a disambiguation issue but rather a technical problem with the move which I was seeking advice on. Apparently a speedy deletion request for the intended destination page needs to be submitted. Working on that.Historical Perspective 2 (talk) 20:15, 5 July 2020 (UTC)
- Support 11th Massachusetts Regiment is the ARW unit, and this is a sufficiently different title, hatnotes will handle any possible confusion. This is IAW consensus at the Milhist talk page linked above. Peacemaker67 (click to talk to me) 04:18, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
