Geography

Summit lies 10 miles (16 km) from Auburn, Indiana, the county seat.[3]

History

A post office was established at Summit in 1871, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1908.[4] Summit was named for its lofty elevation.[5]

In 1890, the population was 75 residents.[6]

The population was 23 in 1940.[3]
