The name Shinnecock Hills has been used for the former Southampton College station that was temporarily reactivated during the 2004, 2018, and 2026 U.S. Opens, which took place at the nearby Shinnecock Hills Golf Club.[2][3]
History
editThe station first opened around 1887 on the south side of the tracks, and closed in 1938.[1]
The building was used as a U.S. Post Office and as of 2013 was in use as a private residence. In October 2013, the structure was dedicated as a Southampton Town Historic Landmark by the Town of Southampton.[4]
