Sam Roberts (American football)

Samuel Roberts (born April 14, 1998) is an American professional football defensive end for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats.[1]

New England Patriots

Roberts was selected by the New England Patriots in the sixth round, 200th overall, of the 2022 NFL draft.[4]

Roberts was released by the Patriots on August 26, 2024.[5]

Chicago Bears

On August 29, 2024, Roberts was signed to the Chicago Bears' practice squad.[6] He was released on October 1 with an injury settlement.[7]

Carolina Panthers

On November 18, 2024, Roberts was signed to the Carolina Panthers' practice squad.[8] He was promoted to the active roster on December 10.[9]

Roberts was waived on August 26, 2025, and re-signed to the practice squad.[10][11][12]

Atlanta Falcons

On September 5, 2025, the Atlanta Falcons signed Roberts off of the Panthers' practice squad.[13] He was placed on injured reserve on November 14, due to a knee injury suffered in Week 10 against the Indianapolis Colts.[14]

New York Giants

On March 23, 2026, Roberts signed with the New York Giants.[15]
