Rho Tauri (ρ Tau, ρ Tauri) is a binary star[8] in the constellation Taurus and a member of the Hyades star cluster.[10] The system has an apparent magnitude of +4.66[2] and a combined spectral type of A8V.[4] Since one stars (or both) is a Delta Scuti variable,[10] the apparent magnitude varies by 0.010 magnitudes over a period of 1.61 hours.[5]

Characteristics

This is a spectroscopic binary system. The two stars have an orbtial period of 58.94 days and a semi-major axis of 0.48 astronomical units. The primary has a mass of 2.21 solar masses and a radius of 1.90 solar radii, while the secondary has a mass of 2.12 solar masses and a radius of 1.72 solar radii.[8]
