Oedemera tristis is a species of beetle belonging to the family Oedemeridae subfamily Oedemerinae.

Description

Oedemera tristis can reach a body length of about 9–12 mm (0.35–0.47 in). It is an elongated insect with a soft, black body.^[1] Males have large, swollen posterior thighs (metafemurs).^{[citation needed]} The elytra are divergent at their ends and reveal the wings.^{[citation needed]}

Distribution and habitat

This species is present in most Europe.^[2] This insect lives in meadows and forest edges.^[3]
