History
editMultani Mal Modi College was established in 1967 with financial help from Gujarmal Modi.[citation needed] It was established by the Padma Bhushan, Gujarmal Modi, a business magnate of India, in the memory of his father Multani Mal Modi.[citation needed] Its foundation stone was laid by Dharam Vira, ICS, the then Governor of Punjab on 21 September 1966 and the first academic session commenced in July 1967.[citation needed]
Description and governance
editThe college is affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala, and is managed by Rai Bahadur Multani Mal Modi Charitable Trust.[citation needed]
The college is owned and maintained by the Modi Education Society, headed by Seth Sudarshan Kumar Modi.[2][3]
