Located mostly in San Patricio County,[2] small portions of the district extend into Live Oak,[3] and Bee counties.[4]
Other communities served by the district include: Edgewater Estates, Lake City, Lakeshore Gardens-Hidden Acres, Lakeside, Paisano Park, and San Patricio.[2] Previously Edgewater Estates and Paisano Park were in a single census-designated place, Edgewater-Paisano.
In 2009, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.[5]
