Mamoea otira is a species of Desidae that is endemic to New Zealand.[1]

Taxonomy
editThis species was described by Ray Forster and Cecil Wilton in 1973 from a male specimen. The holotype is stored in Otago Museum.[1]
Description
editThe male is recorded at 12.24mm in length. The carapace is coloured dark red brown. The legs are orange brown. The abdomen has a chevron pattern dorsally.[1]

editUnder the New Zealand Threat Classification System, this species is listed as "Data Deficient" with the qualifiers of "Data Poor: Size", "Data Poor: Trend" and "One Location".[2]
