Mode=packed as the new default
editThe current default gallery adds too much visual pollution (those unnecessary edges), which is uncomfortable. --Bageense(disc.) 12:35, 21 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Bageense: If you mean the
<gallery>...</gallery>tags, I'm pretty sure this is part of the MediaWiki software and so outside our control. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 18:27, 22 October 2025 (UTC)
Dark mode styling?
editHow do you do skin-invert-image to fix dark mode for individual images in gallery tags? Having trouble figuring it out. Perhaps this information could be added to the help page. – AlyInWikiWonderland (talk, contribs) 01:13, 23 December 2025 (UTC)
- I figured it out, all you have to do is as follows and it'll fix all of the images in the gallery:
<gallery class="skin-invert-image">
. Not sure still how to do it for individual images though, which will variably be applicable. Also still could be added to the help/documentation page. – AlyInWikiWonderland (talk, contribs) 01:24, 23 December 2025 (UTC)- Being able to do this for a single image in a gallery requires a software change. See mw:Talk:Recommendations for night mode compatibility on Wikimedia wikis#How to apply skin-invert-image to single image in gallery?, phab:T370074, and phab:T372255. I have added documentation for this at Help:Gallery tag#Usage notes. -- Beland (talk) 22:35, 19 March 2026 (UTC)
Slideshow Captions
editI was planning on using the Slideshow mode for a series of maps that were meant to reflect political endorsements over a period of months, tracking how they changed over that period of time. However, I wasn't able to get the caption, which I was using to display the legend for the Maps, would not align to the left-side when the Gallery was in the Slideshow mode and instead every line was centered. Is this WAD? If so, is it possible to make it so that Caption text can be aligned to a side? Ariostos (talk) 19:01, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
