History
editThe HKC as a brand was introduced by its parent company, HKC Corporation Limited, following its establishment in 2001 in Bao'an District, Shenzhen, by Wang Zhiyong, who serves as chairman and chief executive officer.[1][2] Initially, the brand's product lineup consisted primarily of CRT monitors and power supplies before entering the TFT-LCD market.[3]
Between 2011 and 2016, HKC expanded into display panel manufacturing. In 2015, the company invested approximately CN¥24 billion to build its first 8.6-generation (8.5G+) LCD fabrication plant in Chongqing. The facility entered mass production in 2017 and became the first G8.6 line built and operated by a mainland Chinese panel maker.[4] Additional G8.6 lines were commissioned in Chuzhou in 2019, Mianyang in 2020, and Changsha in 2021, alongside terminal-product factories in Hefei and Yichang.[5] The Mianyang facility was designated a major project under China's Western Development strategy. By the end of 2010s, HKC was ranked among China's three largest display panel manufacturers, behind BOE and TCL CSOT.[6]

It operates four G8.6 TFT-LCD fabrication plants in Chongqing, Chuzhou, Mianyang, and Changsha, along with terminal-product factories in Chongqing, Hefei, and Yichang.[10]
