Gustav Waldemar Elmen was a Swedish–American researcher.[1]


Early life

editAs a researcher, he worked at the Bell Telephone Laboratories.[3] At Bell Laboratories, he invented magnetic alloys such as Permalloy.[3] His finding paved the way for high-capacity undersea telegraph lines.[2][4]
In 1941, he founded Naval Artillery laboratory.[4]
