History
editFounding
editThe origins of Guilin University of Technology can be traced back to Guilin Geological School, founded in August 1956 by Ministry of Heavy Industry. In August 1958, the administration of the school was transferred to the Guangxi People's Government, and it was upgraded to a college under the name Guilin Metallurgical College. A branch campus was opened in Pinggui that same year.[4][5]
