I mean this with complete certainty that I have never seen a such a popular Steam game with so little sourced information regarding it besides The Isle. I find this completely ridiculous and purely the fault of development team essentially being in an 11-year-long development hell-esque Ouroboros cycle of gross incompetence regarding their development of this game. It's no wonder that the last Wikipedia article for this game was made (and deleted) back in 2016.

The Isle is the second most popular dinosaur game on Steam, behind Ark: Survival Evolved. The Isle has 105,000 reviews in total across all languages according to SteamDB, (Steam says it's 95,000, I'm assuming SteamDB counts deleted reviews.) and was released back in 2015. Approximately 80% of those reviews are positive. The Isle places at number 15 for the most reviewed early-access games on Steam. The Isle is a part of the top 300 most rated Steam games. The Isle averages a minimum of 5000 concurrent players on Steam daily. It costs 20 dollars to purchase this game.

This game has next to no credible information or sources regarding its previous and current developers, besides Donald "Dondi" Wittich, and even then, information is scarce. The Isle's poorly-maintained Fandom wiki lists Richard Williams, animation director of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, as "Level Designer". This game has no critic reviews on any major aggregation websites beyond amateur user views.

The Isle's website is non-functional at the moment with the domain being the only thing for Afterthought LLC. Searching for The Isle's website brings you to the website of an unofficial game-server for the game that has a similar domain, with having to go lower into your search engine's results to find the official one ran by Afterthought LLC.

This game is so incredibly notable. I am not lying when I mean that the Isle kickstarted the genre of a dinosaur survival game, which is one of the most popular genres of survival games currently.

The article for this game, if it even has a chance to leave drafting, which I really hope it does. Will unfortunately have to be much like the article for Yandere Simulator. The game and its developers already are in more ways than one. BasiLottie (talk) 00:48, 28 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
