- Hi @Ipmclaren, could you please respond with three sources that meet all three criteria in WP:42? Meadowlark (talk) 09:07, 2 February 2026 (UTC)
- Hi Meadowlark
- Thank you for looking at the draft.
- I’m happy to provide sources, could you let me know whether the following types of coverage would be appropriate under WP:42:
- 1. peer-reviewed or editorial features in photography journals
- 2. exhibition reviews in established art publications
- 3. institutional or academic publications discussing the work
- I can then send you three sources that meet all three criteria.
- all the best

- Hi @Ipmclaren, thanks for your patience and apologies for the delay. Unfortunately the answer is always 'it depends'! I'll try to give you some guidelines though - and if you do choose some that don't quite work, I can explain why so you can look again.
- All three of your suggested possibilities sound promising - you would just need to make sure that 1) there's text discussing the work, 2) that the artist is minimally or not at all involved in the writing of the text (so quotes, interviews, etc should be avoided), and 3) that the artist is not connected to the writer or publication (eg he's not an editor of the publication, or founder of a magazine, on the faculty of an academic institution, etc). Is that of any help?
- If the sources you choose are already in the draft, feel free to just name them {eg John Doe's article in Art Magazine) and I'll go have a look. Or you can link them here if that's easier for you. :) Meadowlark (talk) 06:16, 17 February 2026 (UTC)
