Vis Tribus Shooting Team

edit

Vis Tribus Shooting Team (Latin: Vis – "Power", Tribus – "Three Forces") is a marksmanship training group in the Philippines founded by Police Lieutenant Glenn Odulio Magno in March 2025. The organization was established to assist members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in preparing for and passing the Modified Handgun Marksmanship Training (MHMT).

Etymology

edit

The name Vis Tribus translates to "Power of Three." It represents the team’s three guiding principles:

  • Exactio (Accuracy)
  • Celeritas (Speed)
  • Fiducia (Confidence)

These three forces embody the philosophy of the group’s approach to handgun marksmanship.

History

edit

The team originated in early March 2025 with the mentorship of PLT Glenn Odulio Magno. The first scholar, Patrolman Mikko Dades, trained under the program and successfully passed the MHMT of the PNP. His commitment and discipline led him to become an assistant instructor, contributing to the development of loyalty and camaraderie within the group.

Following this success, Vis Tribus Shooting Team expanded its mission. The team decided not only to train police personnel but also to offer free instruction to civilians interested in learning the basic fundamentals of pistol marksmanship.

Programs and Activities

edit

The Vis Tribus Shooting Academy conducts structured marksmanship programs, emphasizing safety, discipline, and skill development. Since its establishment, the academy has graduated three batches of trainees under the Vis Tribus Fundamentals of Pistol Marksmanship Program.

Legacy and Impact

edit

Vis Tribus Shooting Team has become recognized within its community for its dual role of supporting law enforcement readiness and providing accessible firearms education to civilians. Its philosophy of combining accuracy, speed, and confidence has influenced both professional and civilian shooters in their pursuit of responsible marksmanship.
