The company was established in 2003 and is headquartered in New Delhi, India.[1] It was incorporated as a private limited company in April 2009 under the Companies Act with Corporate Identification Number U31900DL2009PTC189461.[2]
Trans ACNR operates production and research and development facilities across India and the United Arab Emirates, totalling over 525,000 square feet.[3] The company's in-house research and development centre is recognised by India's Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR).[3]
Trans ACNR markets its bus air-conditioning products under the JTAC brand and serves as the authorised distributor and service partner in India for Hwasung Thermo transport refrigeration units.[3]
The name Trans ACNR is derived from Transport Air-Conditioning and Truck Refrigeration, reflecting the company's original product focus.[4]
History
editTrans ACNR Solutions Private Limited was established in 2003, with its initial commercial focus on bus air-conditioning and transport refrigeration systems for the Indian transport sector.[4] The company developed an early nationwide service network comprising company-owned sales and service centres in cities including Delhi, Bhubaneswar, Dera Bassi, Bengaluru, Indore, Cochin, Trivandrum, Patna, Raipur, Jamshedpur, Kozhikode, Noida, Lucknow, Gurugram, Ahmedabad, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Vijayawada, Hyderabad and Chennai, with resident sales and service personnel stationed at additional locations across India.[4]
By its first decade of operation, Trans ACNR had established a presence as a supplier to bus manufacturers and fleet operators across India through its JTAC brand.[4]
In 2018, the company presented the JTAC Silent Series air-conditioning system, a product designed specifically for sleeper coach bus applications, at Bus World India.[5] During this period, Trans ACNR also commenced the supply of HVAC systems for electric buses and initiated development of Battery Thermal Management Systems for electric bus platforms.[5]
In November 2020, Trans ACNR entered into a partnership with Omega Seiki Mobility to supply thermal management systems for refrigerated electric three-wheelers and commercial vehicles.[6][7]
In February 2026, Trans ACNR commenced construction of a new 130,000-square-foot manufacturing facility at Shoolagiri, near Bengaluru, in Tamil Nadu, intended for the production of bus air-conditioning systems under the JTAC brand. Commercial production at the facility is scheduled to commence in December 2026.[8] The facility is expected to create approximately 200 direct employment opportunities in the region.[8]
Products and services
editBus air-conditioning systems
editTrans ACNR manufactures bus air-conditioning systems under the JTAC brand for buses across small (mini), medium (midi), and large size categories. Product lines include the following series:[9]
- JTAC Astro Series — roof-mounted and integrated air-conditioning units for mini, midi, and large buses.
- JTAC Snow Leopard (SL) Series — rooftop air-conditioning units designed for small, medium, and large bus platforms.
- JTAC Silent Series — air-conditioning systems designed for sleeper coach bus applications, introduced in 2018.[5]
The JTAC product range is supplied to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), bus body builders, fleet operators, and state road transport undertakings across India, as well as to markets in the MENA region and Africa.[9]
Electric bus HVAC systems
editThe JTAC Lightning Series comprises all-electric HVAC systems developed for electric bus platforms across mini, midi, and large size categories. These systems operate without a mechanical connection to an engine-driven compressor and use variable frequency inverter technology to regulate refrigerant mass flow in relation to ambient temperature and bus occupancy conditions.[5][10] The Lightning Series is designed to operate across a voltage bandwidth of 330 volts to 660 volts.[5]
EV Battery Thermal Management Systems
editTrans ACNR manufactures Battery Thermal Management Systems (BTMS) for electric commercial vehicles. These systems regulate battery pack temperature to maintain specified operational parameters across varying ambient conditions.[11]
EV Traction Cooling Systems
editThe company manufactures Traction Cooling Systems (TCS) designed to manage the thermal requirements of electric motors and power electronics in electric commercial vehicles.[12]
Transport refrigeration
editTrans ACNR serves as the authorised distributor and service partner in India for Hwasung Thermo transport refrigeration units. The product range covers truck-body mounted refrigeration units for temperature-controlled logistics applications including dairy, food logistics, pharmaceutical cold chain, and e-commerce distribution.[13]
Railway and metro rail HVAC
editTrans ACNR manufactures HVAC systems for railway coaches and metro rail applications in India.[14]
Truck cabin air-conditioning
editThe company produces roof-mounted truck cabin air-conditioning units for long-haul truck driver cabins. The system is powered by a 24V DC battery and is designed to function under both engine-on and engine-off operating conditions.[15] The product was developed in response to research linking driver fatigue to road safety outcomes, as documented in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) Road Accidents in India Report.[15]
Defence and off-road HVAC
editTrans ACNR manufactures HVAC systems for defence and off-road vehicle applications. The company is registered with the Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA) under India's Ministry of Defence for the supply of defence-grade HVAC equipment.[16]
