tonari is a Japanese technology company that develops communication systems for connecting remote locations through life-size audiovisual displays.[1] The company is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan and was founded in 2018 by former Google employees Taj Campbell and Ryo Kawaguchi.[2][3]

Tonari's main product, tonari portal, is a telepresence system that combines large displays, cameras, and audio technology to enable communication between geographically separated spaces.[4][5]

In 2022, the company raised ¥450 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Real Tech Fund and One Capital.[6][7]
