The Realest is an American company that operates an online marketplace and authentication service for sports, film and music memorabilia. Legally incorporated as Real Established, Inc. and based in Los Angeles, it was founded in 2023 by Scott Keeney. The company sources items directly from athletes, artists, teams and studios and authenticates them through a witness-based process before selling them through its website and online auctions.[1][2]
History
editThe Realest was founded in 2023 by Scott Keeney, a disc jockey known professionally as DJ Skee who had previously worked as an in-house DJ for the Los Angeles Rams.[2] The company sources memorabilia directly from athletes, artists, teams and studios with the stated aim of establishing verified provenance and reducing fraud in the collectibles market.[1] In January 2026, The Athletic reported that the company had raised a $12 million investment round.[3]
Partnerships
editThe Realest has produced authenticated memorabilia in partnership with teams and organizations across professional sports. It was an early partner of the Philadelphia Eagles,[1] and in 2026 launched a collection with the Cleveland Cavaliers that included game-used jerseys and equipment.[4] The company has also partnered with MLB Players, the business arm of the Major League Baseball Players Association, on player-licensed collectibles.[5] In women's sports, it has run auctions for the Professional Women's Hockey League and the Unrivaled basketball league, which The GIST reported generated more than $1.4 million in combined sales.[6] Outside sports, it has handled music memorabilia associated with Snoop Dogg.[1]
