Studio Yotta (officially Studio Yotta LLC[1]) is an American independent animation studio founded by Jacob Ganz and Brandon Clark in 2012.[2][3] The company consists of a remote team of artists and animators that produces animation for the internet, video games, and television. The studio derives its name from "Yotta-", a metric prefix that denotes a factor of 1024.

History

edit

Studio Yotta was founded in 2012 by Jacob Ganz and Brandon Clark. Ganz and Clark's animation careers originally began on Newgrounds, joining the website under the monikers "jakeganz" and "Bug", respectively.[4][5] The studio initially assisted in producing online web animations, with some of their earliest works including projects by Chris O'Neill, Harry Partridge, and Arin Hanson.[6] The studio's first attempt at industry work would be producing webisodes for OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes in 2016.[7]

Many of Studio Yotta's creative talents got their start producing independent web animations on sites such as Newgrounds and YouTube during the heyday of online Flash animation.[3][8][9] In an interview with Anime News Network, Ganz stated that one of his goals with Studio Yotta is to leverage online connections to bridge the gap between independent web animation and the professional animation industry.[10]

In 2024, Studio Yotta officially incorporated as a limited liability company in Florida.[1]
