sosocamo (born Cameron Sanders) is an American rapper, singer and songwriter from Apex, North Carolina. He is known for his blend of melodic rap, Southern hip hop and trap music. He rose to prominence following the viral success of his single keep steady, which accumulated tens of millions of streams across digital platforms and helped establish his "Big Country" aesthetic and musical identity.[1]
Early life
editSanders was born and raised in Apex, North Carolina, a rural community outside Raleigh. He grew up in a musical household where family members played instruments and participated in church music. During his childhood he sang in church choirs and learned guitar, influences that later shaped his melodic approach to songwriting.[1]
He began recording music around the age of 14 and spent much of his teenage years releasing songs independently online. Before achieving mainstream attention, Sanders recorded music from his family's home while developing a local following through SoundCloud and social media platforms.[1]

editsosocamo began releasing music independently during the late 2010s. His early work combined melodic vocals with Southern rap influences and gradually attracted an online audience. During this period, he met producer Grayto, who became a frequent collaborator and executive producer for much of his catalog.[1]
2024–2025: no service and breakthrough
editFollowing a series of independent releases, sosocamo signed his first distribution deal through Broke Records and began recording what would become his debut album, no service.[2]
His breakthrough came with the single keep steady, which went viral on TikTok and streaming platforms. The song received support from Philadelphia 76ers player Jared McCain and several online streamers, helping introduce his music to a wider audience.[3][2]
no service was released in 2025 and established the themes and visual identity that would become associated with the artist's "Big Country" aesthetic, drawing heavily from his upbringing in rural North Carolina.[1]
2026–present: big country
editIn 2026, sosocamo released his second studio album, big country. The album expanded on the sound introduced in no service and featured production from Grayto and several other collaborators. Music publication The Fader described the project as a refinement of his smooth-toned trap sound and noted the growing popularity of his music following the success of keep steady.[1]
The album was supported by singles including 200 and say dat, along with a nationwide headlining tour and appearances at major music festivals.[2]
