History
editSinga began operations in 2015.[1] The company's chief executive officer and one of its founders is Atte Hujanen, who is also known as one of the founders of the startup event Slush.
In 2017, Singa raised €1.75 million in seed funding led by the British venture capital firm Initial Capital. Other participants included Tamares Holdings, Superhero Capital, Reaktor Ventures and Tekes.[2]
In 2025, Singa signed a licensing agreement with Warner Music Group, adding original artist recordings to the service. The same year, the company entered into a partnership with Merlin, which represents about 15 percent of the world's music through independent record labels.[3]
In 2026, Fast Company named Singa one of the ten most innovative music companies of the year.[3]
