Career

edit

Early work

edit

Littlefield began his acting career in the early 2000s with small roles in television series. In a 2020 interview, he recalled that his introduction to performing came at age nine when he wrote and produced a play titled "How Magic Came To Be".[1]

Television

edit

In 2014, Littlefield played a leading role in The After, a science fiction pilot created by Chris Carter for Amazon Studios. The role was written specifically for Littlefield by Carter, creator of The X-Files.[2] Although the pilot received an eight-episode series order in March 2014, Amazon canceled the series in January 2015 before additional episodes were produced.[3]

Littlefield appeared in recurring roles on several HBO series, including The Leftovers and Sharp Objects, as well as TNT's Good Behavior. From 2019 to 2020, he portrayed Jonathan "Mouse" Cartwright in the CW superhero series Batwoman, appearing in 14 episodes of the show's first season.[4] Littlefield described Mouse as a character with a traumatic background who is "a lost soul searching for a home".[5]

Film and production work

edit

Littlefield co-wrote, produced, and starred in Mother's Little Helpers, a dysfunctional family comedy-drama that premiered at the 2019 South by Southwest Film Festival.[6] Directed by Kestrin Pantera, the film follows four estranged siblings who reunite when their mother receives a terminal diagnosis. Littlefield played Jude Pride, an addict on house arrest. The film's cast, including Littlefield, improvised much of their dialogue based on Pantera's direction and story outline.[7] The film was released on digital platforms in May 2020.

Littlefield has also worked on other independent film projects, including co-producing and writing Plus One, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, and contributing to Extropia, a multimedia stage production.[8]
