• Comment: I did a quick WP:BEFORE and the only in-depth source I can find is from The Sun. Unfortunately, The Sun is not considered reliable. Everything else is just mentions. CNMall41 (talk) 19:47, 26 January 2026 (UTC)

Rick Reeno is an American sports media executive and the chief executive officer (CEO) of The Ring. In 2003, he founded the boxing news outlet BoxingScene.com, which was purchased by CBS Interactive (now Paramount Global) in 2018.[1] Independent media analysis has cited the site as part of a broader shift toward digital-first journalism in boxing.[2]

Career

edit

After establishing BoxingScene.com in 2003, Reeno managed the site's editorial and business operations for fifteen years. Following the sale to CBS Digital, he remained with the publication through its transition to ProBox TV ownership in early 2024.[1]

Following the acquisition of The Ring by Turki Alalshikh in late 2024, Reeno joined the leadership team to help transition the publication to a digital-focused model.[3] He was named CEO in July 2025.[4] In his role, he handles international media partnerships and business operations, including the publication's weekly programming deal with DAZN.[4]

Influence

edit

The Guardian cited BoxingScene.com as a key example of how online outlets supplanted traditional print journalism during the early 21st century. The report discussed this development within the context of broader changes in sports media production and consumption.[2]
