‘’’Ratcon Construction Company Limited’’’ is a Nigerian construction and civil engineering company headquartered in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. The company was established in 1990 and specializes in road construction, bridge construction, quarry operations, asphalt production and building construction.[1][2]
History
editRatcon Construction Company Limited was founded in 1990 by Elias C. Saad, a Lebanese born Nigerian businessman and engineer.[3] The company was established in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, and initially focused on civil engineering and construction services in southwestern Nigeria.[4]
During the 1990s and 2000s, the company expanded its operation beyond Oyo State and became involved in the construction and rehabilitation of highways, bridges, township roads and public infrastructure projects across southwestern Nigeria.[5]
The company gained wider public attention through its participation in major state government infrastructure projects. In 2018 “Premium Times” reported on Ratcon’s involvement in the Osogbo-Gbongan road project in Osun State during and investigation into delays affecting the project.[6]
I’m 2024, the Oyo State Executive Council approved contracts covering approximately 84.7 kilometers of inner roads in Ibadan, with Ratcon among the contractors selected for the projects.[7][8]
