Offie Darlington, also known as Mr. Darlington, is a Nigerian film[1] producer, writer, and actor. He's the founder of an independent production company called Asabawood. Darlington is best known for his involvement in independent film projects within the Nigerian film industry and for winning the Next Rated Filmmaker award at the African Smartphone International Film Festival in 2025[2].[3]

Early life and education

Darlington born was in 2001 in Enugu, Nigeria. From a young age, he developed an interest in storytelling and creative arts, beginning by writing jokes for school drama plays and later making comedy skits.

Mr. Darlington joined the Nigerian film industry as an actor in 2021, initially appearing in Tv movies such as Susanna and Gifted series by ROK Studios. A year later, he expanded his creative focus into producing and writing, including work on the action thriller Ghetto Jagaban (2023).[4]

In 2022, he founded Asabawoods, an independent production company. He has been involved in film projects such as Find Lolu, Iron Condemn, Our Heroes Past[5], and The Unseen Wound[6].[7]

In December 2025, Darlington was awarded the “Next Rated Filmmaker” title at the 2025 African Smartphone International Film Festival (ASIFF) for his project I Am Awele’s Daughter.1
