Nolan Wilson (born February 17, 1974) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He currently competes part-time in the ARCA Menards Series, driving the No. 69 Chevrolet for Kimmel Racing. He previously competed part-time in the NASCAR Goody's Dash Series.[1]
Racing career
editIn 2000, Wilson made his debut in the NASCAR Goody's Dash Series. Over the next three seasons, Wilson made three starts at Daytona International Speedway resulting in a best finish of tenth in 2001.[2] He also made a start at Charlotte Motor Speedway that same year, netting him a nineteenth place finish. During this time, he was in talks with Dale Earnhardt about starting a driving school which would have included Wilson making select starts in the NASCAR Busch Series while driving the No. 3 to promote the school, although those plans fell through after Earnhardt's death in the 2001 Daytona 500.[3] Afterwards, Wilson ran in the ASA Late Model Series on a part-time basis between 2006 to 2007.
On November 19, 2024, it was announced that Wilson would attempt to make his ARCA Menards Series debut at the season opening race at Daytona International Speedway in 2025, driving the No. 69 Ford for Kimmel Racing, with former NASCAR Cup Series driver Jerry Nadeau serving as a consultant for Wilson.[4][5][6] After starting 28th due to qualifying being cancelled due to weather, Wilson finished in the same position in the race, retiring due to damage that he suffered in a multi-car crash only a handful of laps in. On March 4, it was announced that Wilson would run at Talladega Superspeedway with the team in the No. 69 again.[7][8] He finished in fourteenth despite being collected in a multi-car crash on the final lap of the race.
On December 4, 2025, it was announced that Wilson would return to ARCA to drive the No. 69 for Kimmel Racing at Daytona in 2026, this time in a Chevrolet purchased from Rev Racing.[9] He would also participate with the team in the pre-season test for the ARCA Menards Series at the same track,[10][11] where he set the 24th quickest time between the two sessions held.[12][13][14]
Personal life
editWilson is the owner of Nucleus Events, a business which hires professional drivers for automotive showcases. He is also the owner of Knight Operations Inc., a logistics company.[3]
