Career

edit

Karting

edit

Tye first produced notable results in 2020, as an 11 year-old. He won the Kartmasters British Grand Prix, driving for Formula E driver Oliver Rowland's karting team.[2] He joined the grid for the IAME International games at the end of the year, finishing third with the same team.[3] For 2021, Tye then competed in Europe for the full season, in the OKJ category. He had a tough year, and his best result was a 9th place finish at the end of the year at the South Garda Winter Cup.[4]

2022, however, was Tye's breakthrough year. He achieved three championship podiums in an encouraging year for his career, including winning the Champions of the Future series in the OKJ category.[5] He ended the year in the OK category, finishing 4th in the WSK Final Cup.[6] Tye then stepped up to the category for his final full year of karting in 2023. Tye put in some consistent results in his final year of karting, with a strongest championship finish of 8th in the Champions of the Future series, which he won the year before in a lower category.[7]

Formula 4

edit

2024

edit

Tye was announced to be joining Campos Racing for his first ever season in single-seaters. He would be joining the 2024 Formula Winter Series and the 2024 F4 Spanish Championship with the team.[8][9] Tye had a decent debut in FWS, driving against vastly more experienced drivers, as he picked up 1 pole and scored a best result of 4th on his way to 17th in the standings.[10]

2025

edit

In 2025, Tye switches to Rodin Motorsport whilst remaining in Spanish F4 for a second season.[11]
