Melvin Kalousdian (born 24 August 2011) is a Swedish racing driver competing for R Racing in the Ginetta Junior Championship.
Born in Örebro, he began karting at the age of seven before stepping up to single-seaters and winning the 2025 Formula Nordic title on debut, becoming Sweden's youngest ever single-seater driver at 13 years old.[1]
Early life

editKarting (2018–2024)
editKalousdian began karting in the Cadetti class at the age of seven in 2018.[4] In 2019, he stepped up to the Micro class, winning two titles, and in 2020 competed in the South Swedish Championship, the Junior Festival, the Swedish Cup, the Prince Carl-Philip Racing Pokal and the Gothenburg Grand Prix.[4]
In 2021, Kalousdian competed at the karting world finals in Italy at the age of ten.[4] In 2022, he won the Swedish Championship in the mini60 class.[4]
In 2024, Kalousdian won the Swedish karting championship in the Junior 125 category and the South Swedish Kart Champion Cup in the OK Junior class.[5] During the same year he won 15 races and 22 podiums from 26 starts. He also won the Junior ROK class at the ROK Cup Superfinal in Italy, ahead of Ethan Lennon of South Africa and Kacper Rajpold of Poland.[6]
Formula Nordic (2025)
editKalousdian made his single-seater debut in the Formula Nordic championship with Race Team Gelleråsen, becoming Sweden's youngest formula car driver at 13 years old. He took three wins on his debut weekend at Anderstorp Raceway in May 2025.[5]
Over the course of the season, Kalousdian won 13 of 17 races and secured 14 podiums, finishing the championship in first place with 371 points.[7] His total of 13 victories matched the championship's all-time single-season record.
Ginetta Junior Championship (2026–)
editFor the 2026 Ginetta Junior Championship, Kalousdian joined R Racing as part of the Red Bull Junior Team programme.[2]
Formula One
editIn March 2026, Kalousdian was announced as a member of the Red Bull Junior Team.[2]
