Draft:May the “Force” be With You, Teilhard de Chardin

I found an interesting reference to Fr. Pierre Teilherd de Chardin in the book “Genesis, Creation, and Early Man, The Orthodox Christian Vision” by the late Fr. Seraphim Rose.[1]

Chardin’s view on evolution and of God and the order of things in the universe has a close resemblance to the fictional religion of the “Star Wars” saga movies created by George Lucas in regards to “The Force”.

Chardin believes that the Earth and the whole of the universe is a unitarian view of joining together God and the world. That there is an energy, and or, a thought process that evolves and grows and permeates all living beings to one extent or the other. There is no one God that created or controls everything. All beings share this thought, or energy, and continue to better themselves or evolve. This is very similar to the “Star Wars” religion of the “Force”, which states in it’s movies almost the same thing.

I suggest that those who are fans of the “Star Wars” movies and series look into the writings of Fr. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, a French philosopher and Jesuit Roman Catholic priest.
