Matthaios Kigalas (Greek: Ματθαίος Κιγάλας) (Nicosia c.1586 - Venice 1654) was a Cypriot priest, scholar and writer.[1][2]

Scholarly career

Kigalas edited the first edition of Chortatzis work Erofili, an important work of the Cretan Renaissance.[3]

Personal life

Kigalas was the father of scholar and Archbishop of Cyprus, Ilarion Kigalas, as well as scholars Demetrious and Ioannis Kigalas.[1]
