He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers in the international plastic surgery literature and serves as an international editor of the Aesthetic Surgery Journal.[4][6]

BAAPS presidency

edit

Pacifico was elected president of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons in October 2022, succeeding Mary O'Brien, having previously served two years as the organisation's vice president.[1] As vice president he established the BAAPS mentorship programme for training junior plastic surgeons in aesthetic surgery.[1][7]

During his term he campaigned for greater regulation of the cosmetic surgery industry, including a 2022 BAAPS petition calling for legislation to prevent non-surgeons from performing aesthetic surgery.[8] He has commented in the national press on trends in cosmetic procedures, including coverage of non-surgical treatments among under-30s.[9]

His presidency ended in 2024, when he was succeeded by Nora Nugent.[2]
