• Comment: Adding a source does not suddenly change the language used in the prose from being promotional to neutral. You did not change the language used to sound more neutral, I'm afraid. S.G. (They/Them) (Talk) (Edits) 22:47, 2 January 2026 (UTC)
  • Comment: I agree with what Hurricane Wind and Fire said earlier, that section still sounds like an advertisement. For example: "Traffic AI: To solve Indian commuting challenges—like unpredictable traffic signals and hidden road costs—using real-time data and predictive modeling." This doesn't have a source cited either but it still sounds way too promotional to me. S.G. (They/Them) (Talk) (Contributions) 00:22, 31 December 2025 (UTC)

Mappls is a digital mapping and navigation platform developed by the Indian company MapmyIndia (C.E. Info Systems Ltd) with the help of ISRO.[1] The platform provides mapping, street-level imagery, satellite imagery, 3D cityscapes with the application Realverse and GPS navigation services for mobile and automotive interfaces.[2]

History

edit

In 2022, MapmyIndia introduced the Mappls brand to consolidate its consumer applications. The platform has since been integrated with the Indian government's National Logistics Policy and the DIGIPIN digital addressing system.[3]

Features

edit

The application includes the following functionalities:

  • RealView: A service providing 360-degree panoramic street-level imagery.[2]
  • Mappls Pin: A 6-character digital code used to identify specific locations.[1]
  • Mappls RealVerse: An immersive 3D mapping and "metaverse" platform.[4]
  • Junction View: Visual representations of intersections and flyovers designed to assist with lane navigation.[5]
  • Safety Alerts: Audio notifications regarding road conditions such as speed breakers and accident-prone zones, utilizing data from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.[5]
  • Traffic AI: To solve Indian commuting challenges—like unpredictable traffic signals and hidden road costs—using real-time data.[6]

Data and Privacy

edit

Mappls uses satellite data from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for terrain and hybrid map visualization. The company has stated that it does not sell user location data to any third-party advertisers.[7]
