Luca Anderlini is an Italian-born microeconomic theorist whose research focuses on Game Theory and Contract Theory. He is Professor of Economics at the University of NaplesFederico II and Emeritus Professor of Economics at Georgetown University. He is also a Fellow of the Center for Studies in Economics and Finance (CSEF)
Biography
editAfter his undergraduate studies in Rome at La Sapienza, he moved to Cambridge UK as a graduate student. There, he gained an MPhil and a PhD in Economics from the University in 1986.
After appointments at the University of Cambridge and at St John's College, in 1999 he moved to Southampton University.
In 2001 he moved to the USA, to Georgetown University in Washington DC, from which he retired in 2025. He now has an appointment at the University of Naples Federico II.
From 1986 to 1999 he held one-year visiting positions at Yale, Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania and the London School of Economics.
Research
editHis primary research interests are in Game Theory and Contract Theory. His main contributions are to the theory of Repeated Games and to the foundations of Incomplete Contracts.
