Lin Chen (Chinese: 陈霖; pinyin: Chén Lín; also rendered as Chen Lin) is a Chinese trail runner and ultramarathon athlete. She placed fourth in the women's race at the 2024 Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc and has won international ultramarathons including the 2023 Doi Inthanon Thailand by UTMB 100-mile race, the 2024 Hong Kong 100 Ultra Trail Race, the 2025 Canyons Endurance Runs 100-mile race, and the 2025 Kodiak Ultra Marathons 100-mile race.[1][2][3]

Early life and career

Chen is from Shuozhou, Shanxi, China. She worked in the outdoor-sports industry, including roles in retail and race operations. She began marathon running in 2016 and later moved into trail running.[4]

Chen won the women's 200-kilometre division of the 2023 Chongli 168 Ultra Trail in 35 hours, 23 minutes and 52 seconds. The victory was described as a turning point in her competitive career.[4]

Competitive career

In December 2023, Chen won the women's division of the 175-kilometre Doi Inthanon Thailand by UTMB race. She finished tenth overall in 30 hours, 5 minutes and 15 seconds.[3]

In January 2024, Chen won the women's race at the Hong Kong 100 Ultra Trail Race, finishing in 12 hours, 44 minutes and 51 seconds.[2]

In August 2024, Chen placed fourth in the women's category at the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc, completing the race in 24 hours, 16 minutes and 33 seconds.[1]

In November 2024, she shared the women's victory at the Malaysia Ultra-Trail by UTMB with Vietnamese runner Hà Thị Hậu. Both runners recorded a time of 13 hours, 15 minutes and 16 seconds.[5]

In February 2025, Chen placed fourth among women at the Black Canyon 100K in 8 hours, 50 minutes and 40 seconds. The result earned her a qualifying place for the Western States Endurance Run.[6]

In April 2025, Chen won the women's division of the Canyons Endurance Runs 100-mile race in 18 hours, 33 minutes and 15 seconds, finishing sixth overall.[7]

In July 2025, she won the women's 168-kilometre division of the Chongli 168 Ultra Trail in 23 hours, 47 minutes and 25 seconds.[4]

In October 2025, Chen won the women's 100-mile race at the Kodiak Ultra Marathons in California. She finished ninth overall in 19 hours, 31 minutes and 17 seconds.[8]

In May 2026, Chen won the women's Ultra-Trail des Païens race at Trail Alsace by UTMB. She completed the 108-kilometre course in 10 hours, 44 minutes and 46 seconds and placed seventeenth overall.[3]
