Leverage Edu is an Indian education technology company that provides study-abroad counselling and university admissions support. The company was founded by Akshay Chaturvedi and operates in the international student mobility sector.[1][2]
History
editAn early version of Leverage Edu began in 2015 as a platform connecting students with mentors, according to Forbes India.[3] Mint reported that Leverage was founded in April 2017 by Akshay Chaturvedi and Rajiv Ganjoo as an online platform for higher education services.[4]
In its early period, the company offered college admissions support, profile-building assistance and counselling for students, and also developed software services for universities.[4] By 2020, Forbes India described Leverage Edu as a career counselling and university admissions platform that also assisted students with education loans and accommodation.[3]
Business model and services
editLeverage Edu provides services for students applying to international universities, including counselling, college selection, applications, education loans, visa support and accommodation assistance.[2] TechCrunch reported in 2021 that the company used a digital dashboard to combine different parts of the study-abroad process for students.[2]
The company has also offered services to universities. Mint reported in 2017 that Leverage Edu offered a software-as-a-service tool for university admissions.[4] In 2025, TechCrunch reported that the company had introduced a software suite for universities under the Univalley.ai brand.[5]
Pandemic period and expansion
editDuring the COVID-19 pandemic, Leverage Edu was affected by the suspension of overseas travel and uncertainty around international admissions. Forbes India reported that the company had operating revenue of ₹7 crore in FY20 and faced pressure as students deferred plans to study abroad.[1] The same article reported that the company later changed parts of its operating approach and expanded after the pandemic period.[1]
In 2025, TechCrunch reported that Leverage Edu was operating from Noida and recruiting students in multiple countries while helping applicants apply to universities in several destination markets.[5] The report also stated that the company had responded to changing visa rules and diplomatic tensions by shifting student recruitment and destination-market strategies.[5]
