Korie Hedley (born 2 July 2005) is a British actor, writer and director from Worksop, Nottinghamshire, England. He is known for his work in independent film and theatre, including the short film Social Agony (2023) and the series Cruel Obsession.

Early life and education

Hedley was born in Worksop, Nottinghamshire. He developed an interest in acting during his early school years and became involved in local theatre productions.

A key moment in his early development came when he portrayed Mickey Johnstone in a stage production of Blood Brothers, which led him to pursue acting more seriously.

He later studied at Rotherham College, where he began working on short films and media projects. As of 2024, he is studying acting at University Centre Rotherham (UCR), with his course expected to run until 2027.

Career

Theatre

Hedley began his career in theatre, appearing in amateur and youth productions. His stage credits include Blood Brothers, Chicago, Punk Rock, and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie (Teen Edition), in which he portrayed Wayne New.

His performance in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie was noted in a review by the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA).[1]

Film and television

Hedley transitioned into screen acting through independent and student-led productions.

He is known for the short film Social Agony (2023), which he wrote, directed and starred in. The film explores themes of peer pressure and homophobia among young people and received coverage in regional press.[2]

The project later contributed to the development of the series Cruel Obsession, in which Hedley portrayed the character Mark.[3]

Hedley has also worked on a range of independent productions, including short films, promotional media, and projects listed on casting platforms such as Backstage.

He is set to appear in the feature-length film All You Do Is Bleed, directed by Jordan-Kane Lewis.
